Technology Integration
- How technology was being used to support teaching and learning:
- The HP tablet PCs facilitated the use of learning teams to build a supportive, collaborative learning environment. Prior to using the HP Tablet PCs, the class met in fixed rows of desktop computers which made it difficult for students to work together
- Students interact with lecture slides simplifying the notetaking process
- Instructors assess student learning during lecture by having students electronically submit answers to key questions. Student responses are displayed for quick and timely feedback
- What students and instructors did with technology:
- Class time was allowed for students to collaborate on team assignments. The mobility of the tablet PCs enabled students to gather around a table to work together and easily show each other their work
- Classroom Presenter enabled students to take notes on the instructor's slides, then save them for review later
- Classroom Presenter engaged students in the lecture by enabling them to write and submit responses to questions to assess their own understanding. The instructor displayed student responses to provide informative and timely feedback
- Software used:
- Classroom Presenter 3.0
- Microsoft OneNote 2007
- Microsoft Windows Journal 5.1
